Belhurst Castle

Commentary
Belhurst Castle completely a fantastic dock in the summer of 2005 and
we had the privilege of being the first overnight boaters to use it.
It has room for several large boats and the water depth allowed us to dock
the Kopasetic in one of the many finger slips. The dock is spacious and
easy to maneuver around. The waters of Seneca Lake can get rough and
we felt our boat was very protected. As for the dining, we were
impressed - we had only visited for lunch on one other occasion but we
were delighted with the evening meal on our overnight stay. We have
not eaten at Stonecutters Pub but one visitor to the site said the food
was excellent in the pub as well.
Recommendations for the Restaurant/Inn
 | Put some signs out on the waterfront with your
restaurant hours. |
 | Add a wine tasting hut at the beach and anyone
tending it can act as a dock rat to help in boaters. |
 | Put a sign near the slips explaining who
they are for - patrons of the restaurant or Castle. |
 | A larger wind sock would let larger boats see the
best approach from farther out. |
 | Have your personnel watch the dock to aid boaters (a
well placed camera would help). |
 | Have a golf cart shuttle customers to and from the
dock - especially overnight guests with luggage. |
